You'll work closely with students, families, and school staff to assess and address hearing needs, ensuring every learner can thrive in the classroom environment.
Desired Skills & Experience:
- Masters or Doctoral degree in Audiology from an accredited program
- Current state licensure (or eligibility) to practice as an audiologist in educational settings
- Prior experience working in schools or with pediatric populations is highly valued
- Proficient in conducting hearing screenings, diagnostic evaluations, and auditory processing assessments
- Skilled in fitting, programming, and troubleshooting hearing assistive technology (e.g., FM systems, hearing aids)
- Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal abilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive audiological servicesincluding identification, assessment, and managementfor students with hearing loss or auditory processing disorders
- Collaborate with IEP teams, teachers, and parents to develop and implement strategies supporting academic and social success
- Educate staff and families about hearing loss, classroom accommodations, and use of assistive technology
- Maintain accurate and confidential documentation, following school policies and state regulations
- Stay current on best practices, compliance requirements, and new developments in school audiology
