Job Description

Make a meaningful impact as a pediatric audiologist supporting Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) students in a dynamic school setting. This onsite, contract role is located close to Dearborn, MI, covering a short-term maternity leave from August 31, 2026, through Thanksgiving break. You'll provide crucial audiological services and consultation, ensuring every student receives the support they need to thrive academically and socially.

Key Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) or Masters Degree in Audiology
  • Current Michigan Audiology License
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A)
  • 35 years experience in pediatric and/or educational audiology strongly preferred
  • Deep knowledge of audiological assessment and intervention for school-age children
  • Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with families and school staff

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Conduct audiological assessments and educationally relevant evaluations to determine DHH student needs
  • Support DHH students across the district by participating in educational planning and consultations
  • Collaborate with clinical audiologists and ENT providers for medical information and Hearing Assistive Technology clearances
  • Assist families with understanding, obtaining, and following up on clinical recommendations
  • Interpret evaluation results clearly for educators, parents, and other stakeholders
  • Consult with support staff regarding the educational impact of hearing loss
  • Join the Early On Team to support young children (birth to age three), occasionally participating in home visits
