Job Description

This opportunity seeks a qualified Adaptive Physical Education Teacher to support elementary and middle school students in a part-time, contract role within the Saratoga Union area. The position entails delivering specialized physical education tailored to students with diverse needs, fostering their physical development in an inclusive educational setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide adaptive physical education instruction for elementary students (50 minutes/week) and middle school students (70 minutes/week).
  • Collaborate with school staff to develop and implement individualized physical education plans.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, adapting lessons to meet individual abilities and goals.
  • Ensure safe and supportive learning environments that encourage physical activity and skill development.
  • Comply with all district policies and participate in required trainings and onboarding processes.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid California teaching license with a current Adaptive Physical Education (APE) endorsement.
  • Experience working with children requiring adaptive physical education services.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with educators, parents, and administration.
  • Ability to manage time effectively to meet the 3-hour maximum per week commitment.
  • Willingness to participate in onsite or remote interviews as arranged.

Location and Schedule:

  • Position based in the Saratoga, CA area.
  • Part-time contract assignment during the current school year (CSY).
  • Approximately 3 hours per week, serving one school site.
