Job Description

A part-time Adaptive Physical Education Teacher position is available for the upcoming school year at a K-12 public school in Oakland, CA. This contract role requires a skilled educator to provide specialized physical education services to students with diverse needs. The assignment involves working up to 3 hours per week, serving one school within the district.

Key Qualifications:

  • Current California teaching credential with an Adaptive Physical Education (APE) endorsement

  • Willingness to participate in district-provided training and onboarding

Responsibilities include:

  • Designing and implementing adaptive physical education programs tailored to individual student needs

  • Monitoring student progress and adjusting instruction accordingly
  • Ensuring compliance with all district and state requirements for APE services

This role offers flexible scheduling with a maximum of three hours per week and requires onsite or remote interviews with advance notice. A signed contract and district onboarding (including fingerprint clearance) are mandatory before starting the assignment. Decisions on candidates will be made within 24 hours of interviews.
