Job Description

A K-12 school in Fremont, CA is seeking a dedicated professional to provide specialized physical education services as an Adaptive Physical Education Teacher. This full-time, onsite contract position offers a comprehensive role supporting students with unique physical and perceptual motor needs.

Responsibilities include:

  • Deliver regularly scheduled Adapted Physical Education to students enrolled in special education classes, such as those with severe, communicative, or physical handicaps.
  • Conduct assessments to identify students physical and perceptual motor needs.
  • Develop, write, and modify individualized educational programs (IEPs) tailored to each students requirements.
  • Monitor student growth through consistent evaluations and adjust IEPs as needed.
  • Collaborate and consult with classroom teachers regarding physical education instruction modifications or specialized programming.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation and communication related to student progress.

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Valid Adaptive Physical Education teaching license.
  • California Pupil Personnel Services (PPS) Credential.
  • Experience working with special education populations is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with educators and families.

This position offers competitive weekly pay and a benefits package including health, dental, and vision insurance, plus a 401(k) retirement plan. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 37.5 hours per week.
