Job Description

This position offers a unique opportunity for an Adaptive Physical Education (APE) teacher to support student development in an elementary school setting located in Fremont, CA. The role focuses on delivering specialized physical education services that accommodate diverse learning needs, fostering physical fitness and motor skills in young learners. This contract position spans the current school year (CSY), with part-time hours of up to 3 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide adaptive physical education instruction tailored to individual student needs.
  • Collaborate with school staff to develop and implement appropriate physical activity programs.
  • Deliver 50 minutes of adaptive PE weekly at the elementary level, with additional opportunities at the middle school level (70 minutes/week).
  • Maintain documentation concerning student progress and program effectiveness.
  • Participate in training sessions and meet district onboarding requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Valid California Adaptive Physical Education endorsement.
  • Current California teaching license.
  • Experience working with elementary students in physical education.
  • Ability to manage a caseload within a school environment.
  • Willingness to participate in onsite or remote panel interviews.
