Job Description
Step into a vital role supporting neonatal and adult critical care as a highly skilled Registered Respiratory Therapist. This contract opportunity offers two schedule options: 3 x 12-hour shifts (6:00 AM6:30 PM) or 4 x 12-hour shifts (6:00 AM6:30 PM). Please specify your preferred schedule upon application. Variable days and on-call responsibilities are required. Candidates must reside at least 100 miles from the facility.
Key Qualifications:
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credentials
- Active ABG license
- Current certifications in ACLS, BLS, PALS, and NRP
- Over 3 years of Level 3 NICU experience, including:
- High-frequency ventilation
- Nitric oxide and heliox administration
- Neonatal intubation and ventilator management
- Bubble CPAP and heated high flow for neonates
- Neonatal arterial puncture
- Attendance at deliveries
- Competency in both adult and neonatal critical care, with a willingness to float as needed
- NICU transport experience preferred
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver physician-prescribed respiratory care, including diagnostic evaluation and interpretation of physiologic data
- Perform cardiopulmonary tests and studies, analyzing physiological specimens
- Manage, educate, rehabilitate, and provide care for patients with cardiopulmonary system deficiencies and abnormalities
- Apply and monitor various technologies, medical gases, ventilatory support, and artificial airways
- Provide advanced care such as bronchopulmonary hygiene, pharmacological treatments, cardiopulmonary rehab, and hemodynamic support
- Float between NICU and adult critical care areas as required; participate in on-call rotation
