Job Description

VocoVision, a leading provider of telepractice services, is seeking a qualified and passionate Digital Teacher of the Visually Impaired to join our team in Texas. This position offers a unique opportunity to make a positive impact on the education of K-12 students with mild to moderate visual impairments through remote teaching. As a digital teacher, you will have the flexibility to work from home while providing quality education services to students in need.

Job Details:

Position: Digital Teacher of the Visually Impaired
Location: Texas (remote position)
Employment Type: Full-time
Contract Duration: Academic year (with possibility of extension)

Responsibilities:

Provide virtual instruction to K-12 students with mild to moderate visual impairments
Develop and implement individualized educational plans (IEPs) based on students' needs and goals
Assess students' abilities and progress using appropriate assessment tools and techniques
Collaborate with parents, classroom teachers, and other professionals to ensure a comprehensive and inclusive learning experience
Utilize technology tools and resources to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes
Maintain accurate and organized documentation, including progress reports and IEP documentation

Requirements:

Valid Texas teaching certification in Visual Impairment (VI)
Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired
Proficiency in using technology for educational purposes
Strong understanding of the unique needs and challenges of students with visual impairments
Experience with conducting assessments and developing IEPs
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Reliable internet connection and suitable home office environment
Comfortable with working remotely and using telepractice platforms
