Job Title: Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher (TDHH) - Kentucky License

Job Description: We're in search of a committed and enthusiastic Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher (TDHH) to join our educational team in Kentucky. As a TDHH, you'll specialize in providing tailored instruction and assistance to students with hearing impairments, nurturing their academic, social, and emotional development.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with parents, administrators, and fellow educators to devise and execute Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
  • Customize teaching materials and methodologies to suit the specific requirements of students with hearing challenges.
  • Deliver direct instruction, concentrating on language acquisition, communication competencies, and academic subjects.
  • Employ diverse teaching approaches, including sign language and assistive technologies, to enrich learning environments.
  • Work closely with mainstream teachers to ensure appropriate accommodations and adjustments are implemented.
  • Conduct ongoing assessments to track student progress and adapt instructional approaches as needed.
  • Coordinate with other professionals to address students' communication and auditory needs effectively.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Deaf Education, Special Education, or a related field.
  • Possession of a valid teaching license or eligibility for licensure in Deaf Education.
  • Preferably certified as a Teacher of Deaf and Hard of Hearing (TDHH).
  • Prior experience working with deaf or hard of hearing students, preferably within a school setting.
