Digital Teacher of the Visually Impaired

Location: Illinois, Remote

Are you a passionate and dedicated educator with expertise in assisting visually impaired students? VocoVision is seeking a qualified Digital Teacher of the Visually Impaired to join our team and make a positive impact on the lives of K-12 students in Illinois. This remote position offers a unique opportunity to provide specialized support to students with mild to moderate diagnoses, helping them succeed in their educational journey.

Job Details:

Position Type: Full-time, Contract
Location: Remote (Illinois)
Caseload: K-12 students with mild to moderate diagnoses
Duration: School year contract

Responsibilities:

As a Digital Teacher of the Visually Impaired, you will:

Conduct virtual assessments to determine students' educational needs.
Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's unique requirements.
Provide instruction, support, and adaptive materials to visually impaired students.
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including special education professionals and parents, to ensure students' success.
Monitor and track student progress, making necessary adjustments to instructional strategies.
Foster a positive and inclusive virtual learning environment.
Stay up-to-date with best practices in the field of visual impairment education.

Requirements:

To be considered for this position, candidates should meet the following qualifications:

Valid teaching certification in Special Education with an endorsement in Visual Impairments.
Experience working with visually impaired students, preferably in a virtual or remote setting.
Familiarity with conducting assessments and developing IEPs.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with students, families, and colleagues.
Technologically proficient with remote teaching tools and platforms.
Ability to provide clear and engaging virtual instruction.
Illinois teaching certification or willingness to obtain certification if not currently held.
