Job Description

Deliver high-quality care as a skilled professional responsible for radiation therapy. In this contract position, you'll play a key role in administering ionizing irradiation to patients following prescriptions and directions from department physicians. Your expertise will directly impact successful patient outcomes and provide critical support to oncology teams.

Key Qualifications:

  • Certification as a Radiation Therapist
  • Proven experience in administering radiation therapy treatments
  • Strong understanding of safety protocols in therapeutic radiology
  • Excellent communication skills for patient interaction and care team collaboration
  • Current state licensure, if required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow physician instructions accurately

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Administer ionizing irradiation as prescribed by department physicians
  • Prepare treatment areas and maintain equipment according to safety standards
  • Ensure accurate patient positioning and use appropriate protective measures
  • Monitor patient responses and provide clear explanations of procedures
  • Maintain up-to-date patient records and treatment documentation
  • Collaborate with oncologists, nurses, and other healthcare staff to provide seamless care
