Responsibilities:
- Accurately administer ionizing irradiation to patients as prescribed by department physicians
- Follow all protocols and safety regulations to ensure the wellbeing of patients and staff
- Collaborate closely with physicians, physicists, dosimetrists, and fellow therapists to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Properly operate radiation therapy equipment, including setup, calibration, and maintenance of treatment accuracy
- Provide compassionate patient care, delivering clear explanations and addressing questions to alleviate anxiety
- Document all treatment information accurately in patient records
- Maintain a clean, organized workspace in compliance with infection control standards
- Stay current with best practices through ongoing professional development
Qualifications:
- Completion of an accredited Radiation Therapy program
- Current ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification in Radiation Therapy
- Valid state licensure (where required)
- Prior experience as a Radiation Therapist in a clinical setting
- Familiarity with modern radiation therapy equipment and techniques
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols
