Job Description

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Current certification as a Radiation Therapist (ARRT or equivalent)
  • State licensure per regulatory requirements
  • Experience operating and calibrating linear accelerators and related equipment
  • Comprehensive understanding of safety protocols and procedures in radiation therapy
  • Ability to accurately interpret and implement physicians treatment plans
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for supporting patients and collaborating with medical teams
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and patient records with high attention to detail

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver precise radiation treatments prescribed by department physicians
  • Verify patient identification, treatment sites, and documentation before each session
  • Monitor patient reactions to therapy and report any changes or unusual symptoms
  • Accurately document all treatments, noting dose, field, and technique as required
  • Maintain and calibrate equipment to meet quality control and safety standards
  • Educate patients and families regarding procedures, side effects, and safety measures
  • Coordinate with radiation oncologists, dosimetrists, and other team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes
