Job Description

Deliver precise and safe radiation therapy treatments in a dynamic clinical environment. This role requires a highly skilled Radiation Therapist who is adept at operating complex radiation-emitting treatment units and demonstrating sound clinical judgment to ensure accurate treatment delivery and data capture.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and set up treatment rooms and equipment, including necessary aids for patient positioning.
  • Administer radiation therapy while closely monitoring patients for any unusual reactions, reporting findings to the radiation oncologist.
  • Maintain comprehensive and accurate treatment and simulation records in compliance with departmental quality assurance practices.
  • Verify treatment prescriptions, setup instructions, and patient information prior to therapy.
  • Collaborate effectively with allied health specialists such as social workers, dietitians, and nursing staff for holistic patient care.
  • Participate in treatment planning clinics and competency assessments, maintaining up-to-date skills and knowledge through ongoing education.
  • Provide clinical instruction and evaluation to students and new therapists, supporting departmental education initiatives.
  • Adhere strictly to all departmental policies, attendance, dress code, and time management systems.
  • Report equipment malfunctions or deviations promptly to supervisors and engineering staff.
  • Manage supplies and equipment efficiently to optimize resource utilization.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Radiation Therapist with strong technical proficiency.
  • Ability to perform complex calculations related to radiation therapy delivery.
  • Excellent manual dexterity and psychomotor skills for operating radiation equipment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact with patients and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and adherence to competency standards.
  • Capacity to work effectively under stress and adapt to changing schedules and workloads.
