Job Description

Sunbelt Staffing is seeking an experienced Psychiatric Registered Nurse (Psych RN) for a 13-week travel assignment in Batavia, NY. This role involves providing compassionate care to patients with mental health conditions in an inpatient psychiatric unit. In this Role:

Provide direct patient care, including administering medications and monitoring mental and physical health
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans
Assist in crisis intervention and ensure the safety and well-being of patients
Conduct mental health assessments and accurately document patient progress
Educate patients and families about treatment plans, medications, and coping strategies
Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a therapeutic environment for patients

Qualifications:

Active RN license in New York
BLS certification.
Minimum 1-2 year's of experience as a Psychiatric Nurse in a similar acute setting preferred.
Prior experience with crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques is desirable.
Strong understanding of mental health and addiction principles.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in assessing mental health conditions, implementing therapeutic interventions, and administering psychiatric medications
Strong understanding of mental health disorders and treatment modalities
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
