Job Description

Sunbelt Staffing is currently seeking a talented Public Relations and Communications Coordinator to join the team at the Community Safety Coordinator Center (CSCC) in Chicago. This role involves developing and implementing communication and public information programs to promote CSCC initiatives effectively.

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM (subject to change)
Hours: 40 hours/week
Laptop Needed: Yes
Job Type: 16 week contract 

Qualifications:

  • Experience in public relations, marketing, or social media
  • Ability to develop inclusive, culturally-responsive, and data-driven communication strategies
  • Excellent verbal, written, and critical thinking skills
  • Previous supervisory or management experience required
  • Fluency in Spanish or another language preferred

Essential Duties:

  • Plan and direct the execution of public relations and communication campaigns across various platforms
  • Coordinate the creation of written, printed, and digital materials to promote CSCC activities and programs
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of communication initiatives to ensure objectives are met
  • Serve as a project manager, overseeing timelines and budgets for communication projects
  • Utilize social media platforms to communicate CSCC programs, events, and services effectively
  • Design thematic materials for print and digital media using professional design software

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, or related field
  • Five years of experience in public relations, communications, or marketing roles, with previous supervisory experience
