Job Title: Part-Time School Nurse in North Oaks, MN

Position Overview: As the Full-Time School Nurse, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive health services to students, staff, and visitors within the school setting. Your primary focus will be on maintaining a healthy school environment, addressing health concerns, administering medical care, and fostering a culture of wellness and health education.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Health Services: Deliver first aid and emergency medical care to students and staff as needed. Administer prescribed medications and maintain accurate medication records in compliance with school policies and state regulations.

  2. Health Assessments: Conduct health screenings and assessments to identify students with health concerns and develop appropriate action plans.

  3. Health Education: Organize and implement health education programs for students, promoting healthy lifestyle choices and disease prevention.

  4. Health Records Management: Maintain accurate and confidential health records for all students, documenting health concerns, treatments, and interventions.

  5. Collaboration: Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and other school personnel to support students with chronic health conditions, allergies, and special medical needs.

  6. Emergency Preparedness: Develop and execute emergency response plans in collaboration with school staff to handle medical emergencies and health-related crises.

  7. Community Engagement: Foster positive relationships with parents/guardians, community healthcare providers, and relevant agencies to ensure coordinated health support for students.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited nursing program.
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Minnesota.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certifications.
  • Experience in pediatric or school nursing is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with students, parents, and school staff.
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple health-related tasks in a dynamic environment.
  • Proficient in using basic medical equipment and electronic health record systems.
