Job Title: Paraprofessional (School Setting)
Job Description:
We are currently seeking dedicated and compassionate individuals to join our educational team as Paraprofessionals in a school located in Burbank, IL. As a Paraprofessional, you will provide vital support and assistance to students and teachers to ensure a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with teachers to implement lesson plans and educational activities.
- Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with diverse learning needs, including those with disabilities or special requirements.
- Assist in managing classroom behavior and maintaining a positive and safe learning environment.
- Support students with their assignments, projects, and classwork under the guidance of the classroom teacher.
- Assist in monitoring student progress and maintaining accurate records.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive atmosphere that promotes student engagement and participation.
- Assist with classroom setup and organization, including arranging materials and resources.
- Provide assistance during field trips, extracurricular activities, and special events.
- Communicate effectively with students, teachers, parents, and other school staff.
- Collaborate with the school team to implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and accommodations for students with special needs.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (additional education or certification in a related field is a plus).
- Experience working with children or in an educational environment (previous paraprofessional experience is preferred).
- Understanding of diverse learning needs and the ability to adapt teaching strategies accordingly.
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to build positive relationships with students.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to follow directions, work independently, and take initiative.
- Organizational skills and attention to detail.
