Job Description

A healthcare facility in Milwaukee, WI, is seeking a skilled Sterile Processing Technician to support critical patient care services. This role operates within a Level IV Trauma Center with a Level III NICU and an Advanced Comprehensive Stroke Center, ensuring high-impact contributions to patient outcomes.

Location:

Shift Hours:

  • Monday through Friday
  • 1:00 PM to 9:30 PM
  • 40 hours per week

Contract Length:

  • 13 weeks

Key Responsibilities:

  • Properly process and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment, including the Da Vinci XI robot.
  • Operate sterilization equipment such as Ultrasonic washers, sterrad, V Pro, autoclaves, and Steris cart washers.
  • Adhere to strict infection control protocols to ensure patient safety.
  • Utilize charting systems including EPIC, Alaris, and Pyxis for documentation and tracking.
  • Collaborate closely with clinical teams to provide efficient instrument turnaround.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Certification: BLS (AHA) and Sterile Processing Technician (SPT) required. Non-certified candidates with relevant experience may be considered.
  • Proficiency in using complex sterilization equipment and technologies.
  • Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Experience charting in healthcare systems (EPIC, Alaris, Pyxis) preferred.
