Job Description
Provide expert cardiac telemetry nursing care on a fast-paced, high-acuity unit focused on adult patients with complex cardiac and medical conditions. This night-shift role supports patient care on a 32-bed telemetry unit, delivering comprehensive assessments, medication administration, and continuous cardiac monitoring using EPIC EMR and advanced monitoring equipment. The position spans 13 weeks, with flexible guaranteed weekly hours of 36 or 48, and includes every-other-weekend scheduling.

Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct patient care including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation for telemetry patients.
- Monitor cardiac rhythms, managing arrhythmias, and titrating complex drips such as amiodarone, Cardizem, dopamine, and others under protocols.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care for patients with CHF, chest pain, renal dysfunction, hemodialysis, and critical comorbidities.
- Utilize EPIC EMR for accurate documentation and communication.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to hospital mission, values, and safety standards.
- Participate in unit float as needed.
- Ensure compliance with infection control and safety guidelines for a protected patient environment.
Qualifications/Desired Experience:
- Current RN license valid in Missouri or eligibility to obtain it.
- Minimum 1 year of inpatient cardiac telemetry nursing experience.
- BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA only) required.
- Experience with central lines (PICC, ports, HD catheters) and complex drip management essential.
- Additional skills with Tikosyn, Sotalol initiation, chest tubes, and withdrawal protocols preferred.
- Compassionate, detail-oriented, and strong team collaboration skills.
Schedule/Hours:
- Night shifts (7:00 PM 7:30 AM)
- Flexible 36 or 48 hours per week (to be specified upon submission)
- Every other weekend required
