Job Description
Provide skilled nursing care in a fast-paced acute medical-surgical and telemetry unit with a focus on complex care. This contract position offers a rotation of day and night shifts, requiring flexibility to meet patient and unit needs. Candidates will contribute to delivering high-quality care and supporting unit operations in a 37-bed specialized medical setting.
Location: Position is based in Pittsford, NY, a charming suburban area known for its picturesque village center, excellent schools, and close proximity to urban amenities. Pittsford offers a blend of serene residential neighborhoods and convenient access to cultural, dining, and outdoor activities.
Schedule/Hours:
- Night shifts: 12-hour shifts, 7 PM to 7 AM
- Day/night rotation available
- 36 to 48 hours per week
- One weekend shift per week or two weekend shifts every other weekend
- Holiday shifts required (minimum one per contract)
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct patient care in acute med-surg and telemetry settings
- Use EPIC system for accurate and timely charting
- Float to other units as needed to support staffing requirements
- Assume charge nurse responsibilities when required (training available)
- Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
- Maintain compliance with facility policies and procedures
Qualifications and Experience:
- Current and active NY Registered Nurse license
- NIH AHA BLS certification required
- Minimum 1 year recent acute med-surg/telemetry experience (2 years preferred)
- Non-U.S. candidates must have at least 2 years of U.S. work experience
- Ability to work flexible schedules and adapt to changing needs
Additional Information:
This is a 13-week contract role with potential for block booking but not guaranteed. Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility. The position requires a commitment to patient care excellence and contributing to a dynamic healthcare environment.
