A healthcare opportunity is available for an experienced Registered Nurse with critical care expertise, specializing in telemetry and cardiac care. Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Minimum of 1 year telemetry nursing experience; first-time travelers not accepted
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Proficient in managing adult to geriatric patient populations
- Skilled in arrhythmia management, cardioversion, and care of cardiac conditions such as CHF, chest pain, and post-cardiac catheterizations
- Experience with medical-surgical patients and familiarity with cardiac drips (e.g., amiodarone, cardizem, dopamine) and hemodynamic monitoring
- Comfortable with occasional vascular, orthopedic, or cerebrovascular overflow patients
- Knowledge of Epic electronic medical records system preferred, along with Pyxis and SBAR communication tools
Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality nursing care on a 32-bed telemetry IMCU unit
- Manage complex cardiac patients requiring advanced monitoring and interventions
- Participate in floating within the facility as needed, within scope of practice
- Work night shifts, 3 twelve-hour shifts (7:00 PM 7:00 AM), with alternating weekends
- Respond to call only rarely, within a two-hour response window
- Fulfill holiday shift requirements if applicable during the assignment
Additional Details:
- Orientation and onboarding include clinical screening and full compliance with facility policies
- Ratio approximately 1:5-6 patients to nurse
- Scrub color: Navy blue
- Number of non-billable orientation hours varies by contract length
