Exceptional opportunity for a Registered Nurse with Progressive Care Unit (PCU) expertise in a robust acute care environment. This contract position is located in West Chazy, NY, within a 341-bed advanced teaching hospital facility specializing in intermediate-level trauma care (Level 2). The role focuses on adult patients requiring continuous cardiac and respiratory monitoring, providing a dynamic work environment for nurses with telemetry and acute inpatient care skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult patients with complex cardiac conditions including Acute Coronary Syndrome, heart failure, post-PTCA/stent care, and advanced monitoring of multiple cardiac drips.
• Implement nursing protocols such as insulin drips, cardiac drips, venipuncture, EKG administration, post-cardiac catheterization care, and telemetry observation.
• Participate in resource float rotations to support multiple units as part of a clinical float team.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including respiratory and anesthesia support available 24/7.
• Maintain adherence to hospital documentation and medication administration systems (EPIC and MAK).
• Uphold professional appearance standards including designated scrub colors and minimal jewelry.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Current RN licensure with at least 1 year clinical experience in a PCU or similar acute care setting.
• Certifications: BLS and ACLS required.
• Prior experience in telemetry nursing strongly preferred.
• Ability to manage complex patients requiring oxygen therapy, advanced drip protocols, and hemodynamic monitoring.
• Comfortable working with advanced cardiac telemetry equipment and managing acute respiratory compromise.
• Strong communication and critical thinking skills; willingness to float within the hospital as needed.

Schedule and Work Environment:

• Shifts typically 7:00 AM7:00 PM with a posted rotation schedule.
• Self-scheduling options available.
• Weekend coverage approximately every other weekend.
• No call responsibilities; holiday shifts required as needed.
