Key Qualifications:
- Current, unencumbered RN license
- Minimum one year of Stepdown or Progressive Care Unit nursing experience
- Strong cardiac and thoracic surgery unit background highly preferred
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Effective communication, adaptability, and critical thinking skills
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver exceptional nursing care to post-op cardiac and thoracic surgery patients
- Monitor vital signs and recognize signs of patient deterioration
- Administer and titrate cardiovascular and pain medications as ordered
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary healthcare teams for optimal recovery outcomes
- Educate patients and families regarding discharge instructions and ongoing care
- Diligently document patient progress and interventions
