Provide specialized nursing care in a dynamic step-down unit focused on cardiac patients in Nashville, TN. This contract position offers an excellent opportunity for registered nurses with a strong background in cardiac and critical care nursing to apply advanced skills in a supportive clinical environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality bedside nursing care to patients with complex cardiac conditions in a 32-bed step-down CCU unit.
• Utilize advanced monitoring techniques including PA catheter and hemodynamic monitoring to manage critical patients.
• Participate in specialized procedures such as central line and swan insertion, intubations, and support use of IABP and Impella devices.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes within a growing cardiogenic shock program.
• Adhere to hospital protocols and documentation standards using the Meditech system.
• Float within hospital as needed based on unit census, maintaining flexibility in assignments.
• Maintain professional appearance adhering to the scrub color dress code: galaxy blue, red, or black scrubs and optional scrub jackets or vests.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Proven cardiac nursing experience with strong critical care skills.
• Advanced competencies in PA catheterization, hemodynamic monitoring, and experience with IABP, Impella devices preferred.
• Familiarity with CRRT (continuous renal replacement therapy) is a plus.
• ACLS certification required; BLS certification mandatory.
• Ability to work 3-4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule.
• Comfortable managing high acuity patients with a 2:1 patient ratio.
