Job Description

Provide specialized nursing care in an acute inpatient progressive care setting with a focus on cardiac and related complex conditions. This contract opportunity offers the chance to care for adult patients needing close monitoring for diagnoses such as Acute Coronary Syndrome, heart failure, post-PTCA/stent recovery, and those requiring advanced infusion therapies including insulin and cardiac drips.

Responsibilities include managing telemetry monitoring, administering complex medication drips, performing advanced cardiac and respiratory assessments, starting IVs, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams. Nurses will participate as part of the Resource Float team, working primarily on the Progressive Care Unit with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 3:1. Orientation of 1-2 days will support smooth integration into this environment using EPIC for documentation and MAK for medication administration.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Registered Nurse (RN) license with a minimum of 1 year clinical experience, preferably in progressive care or cardiac specialty
• Current BLS and ACLS certification required
• Experience with telemetry monitoring and complex cardiac care preferred
• Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced acute care setting
• Professional appearance adhering to dress code policies (navy blue or white scrubs, closed-toe non-skid shoes)
• Familiarity with electronic documentation systems such as EPIC

Schedule & Hours:

• 7 AM and 7 PM shifts available
• Typically every other weekend
• Holiday coverage required if needed
• No call responsibilities

Additional Information:
Floating within appropriate units may be required as part of resource management. Respiratory and anesthesia support are available 24/7, with ventilators managed only for patients with home ventilators on this unit. Nurses must be comfortable caring for adult patients requiring advanced monitoring and intervention.
