An opportunity is available for an experienced Registered Nurse with stepdown or progressive care unit expertise to provide high-quality night shift care. This contract role is ideal for nurses with a minimum of two years of PCU/Stepdown experience, ready to contribute in a fast-paced hospital setting.
Qualifications / Desired Experience:
- Registered Nurse (RN) license required
- Minimum 2 years of PCU/Stepdown nursing experience
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- Experience with Meditech EMR preferred
- Ability to work flexible night shifts and float within scope as needed
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
Location: This position is based in Hubert, NC, an inviting coastal community known for its scenic beauty and southern charm. Hubert offers access to beautiful beaches, outdoor recreation, and a quiet lifestyle while being within driving distance of larger urban centers.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality, compassionate nursing care to stepdown patients during night shifts
- Monitor patient conditions closely and respond promptly to changes
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for patient care planning
- Document accurately in the electronic medical record system (Meditech)
- Adhere to hospital policies and standards including maintaining certifications
- Participate in block scheduling discussions and cover floating assignments within unit as required
Schedule/Hours:
- Night shifts, 7 PM 7 AM
- Work 3 shifts per week, including every third weekend
- Call coverage is not required
