Job Description
Provide advanced nursing care in a dynamic stepdown unit supporting patients who require close monitoring, including those with central lines, multiple IVs, and ventilatory support. This role demands clinical expertise in medical-surgical nursing and recent experience with critical care patients. As a critical team member, you will facilitate patient care from admission through discharge, collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams, and serve as a clinical resource and preceptor to nursing staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct patient care to medical/surgical patients requiring advanced monitoring
- Manage and operate advanced medical equipment, including central lines (A-lines), invasive lines, multiple IV pumps, and ventilatory support devices
- Assess patient conditions and implement nursing interventions with minimal supervision
- Provide leadership and mentorship to nursing and support staff, including RN, LPN, CNA, housekeeping, and dietary teams
- Collaborate with providers, charge nurses, supervisors, and leadership for optimal patient outcomes
- Facilitate discharge planning and continue care coordination until patient discharge
Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program
- Current Montana RN licensure
- BLS and ACLS certifications required; PALS, EPNC, and TNCC preferred
- Recent experience in advanced medical/surgical and critical care nursing
- Proficient in operation of multiple IV pumps and advanced clinical equipment
- Strong clinical judgment and ability to work independently with established protocols
