This contract opportunity is ideal for an experienced Registered Nurse with step-down and telemetry expertise, ready to provide high-quality care in a progressive care unit. The position is based in Derry, NH, offering a dynamic environment focused on cardio-thoracic and vascular surgical patients along with occasional medical progressive care cases.

Key Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients in a 10-bed progressive care unit with patient ratios of 3-4:1
- Manage advanced equipment including IV pumps, telemetry monitors, chest tubes, high flow nasal cannula, BiPAP/CPAP, and rapid transfusers
- Monitor and care for cardio-thoracic and vascular surgical patients post-operatively, including care involving epicardial and transvenous pacers
- Perform and assist with procedures such as pericardiocentesis, thoracentesis, and chest tube insertion
- Utilize EMR systems effectively to document patient care and communicate across interdisciplinary teams
- Float between progressive care and telemetry units as needed
Qualifications and Experience
- Current RN license with demonstrated proficiency in telemetry and step-down nursing
- Comfort and experience caring for patients with chest tubes required
- Preferred skills: experience with cardiac drips (dobutamine, dopamine, levosimendan), external pacemaker management
- Required certifications: ACLS and BLS
- Strong organizational skills combined with adaptability
Schedule
- Day and night shifts available with a staffing model ensuring support including RN colleagues and nursing assistants
- Every third weekend rotation with no on-call duties
