A rewarding opportunity is available for a Registered Nurse with step-down or progressive care experience to provide specialized patient care in a focused cardiac and vascular post-surgical setting. This contract position offers the chance to work with a dedicated team caring for patients requiring advanced monitoring and intervention in a supportive, technology-equipped environment.
Key Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Current RN licensure with strong telemetry monitoring skills.
- Comfort and proficiency managing chest tubes and other post-surgical drainage devices.
- Experience with cardiac drips such as dobutamine, dopamine, and levosimendan is preferred.
- External pacemaker management experience is a valuable plus.
- Ability to perform or assist with procedures like pericardiocentesis with drain management, thoracentesis, and chest tube insertion.
- ACLS and BLS certifications required.
- Adaptable and highly organized, thriving in a dynamic progressive care unit setting.
Responsibilities:
- Provide complex nursing care for cardio-thoracic and vascular surgical patients, including continuous telemetry monitoring.
- Manage intravenous medications and cardiac drips safely and effectively.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to execute procedures and coordinate care.
- Use advanced medical equipment including telemetry monitors, IV pumps, bladder scanners, and respiratory support devices.
- Adhere to patient care policies and unit guidelines to ensure optimal outcomes.
Location Overview: Positioned in a hospital setting in the Concord, NH area, this role places you near scenic New England surroundings with access to a supportive healthcare community. The unit focuses on high-acuity patients within a 10-bed progressive care area, providing an engaging environment for professional growth.
Schedule:
- Day and night shifts available.
- Every third weekend rotation with no on-call required.
