Job Description
Deliver expert nursing care in a dynamic progressive care unit supporting critically ill patients requiring close monitoring and specialized interventions. This contract opportunity in Bonaire, GA offers a challenging yet rewarding environment where skilled RNs manage a variety of acute diagnoses including respiratory failure, sepsis, stroke, and more.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct nursing care for step-down ICU patients with complex needs such as tracheostomies, chest tubes, invasive line management (arterial, central venous), and titratable drips (insulin, heparin).
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including intensivists, hospitalists, and respiratory therapists to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Monitor patients continuously using EPIC EMR and advanced monitoring equipment.
- Perform and assist with bedside procedures such as chest tube management, PEG tube care, and ventilator support.
- Maintain accurate documentation and participate in educational modules during orientation.
- Work 12-hour shifts rotating on a schedule with weekend and holiday requirements.
Qualifications:
- Active RN license with at least 2 years of progressive care or step-down ICU experience.
- NIHSS, BLS, and ACLS certifications required; CCRN preferred.
- Competency in critical skills including trach care, chest tube management, PIV starts, and glucose/insulin drip management.
- Ability to pass BCR EKG competency exam.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
