Job Description
Providing critical care to patients recovering from intensive care unit stays, this role requires skilled RNs with step-down and progressive care unit experience. Situated in Bonaire, GA, this contract opportunity involves caring for a diverse patient population in a dynamic teaching hospital setting with trauma and specialized center designations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage complex patient care with diagnoses including respiratory failure, sepsis, stroke, renal failure, and more
- Administer and titrate infusions such as insulin and heparin drips, and manage invasive devices including arterial and central venous lines
- Perform bedside procedures support like tracheostomy and chest tube management
- Collaborate closely with CNA support for patient comfort and care tasks
- Utilize EPIC electronic medical records and advanced monitoring equipment for accurate documentation and patient assessment
- Participate in a structured orientation and ongoing professional development
Desired Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years experience in PCU or step-down nursing
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications; NIHSS certification required
- CCRN preferred but not mandatory
- Competency in rhythm interpretation with willingness to complete EKG exam
- Proficiency in managing ventilators, chest tubes, and invasive monitoring devices
- Comfortable working 12-hour shifts with weekend rotation and holiday coverage expectations

Shift Details:
- 12-hour shifts: 7a-7p or 7p-7a
- Weekend rotation: approximately 5-6 weekends per 6 weeks
- Holiday shifts: one major holiday shift required per season
