Job Description
Deliver exceptional patient care as an RN in a progressive care setting, providing specialized support to a diverse medical and surgical population. In this contract role, youll care for hemodynamically stable or predictably unstable patients, offering physical, emotional, spiritual, and cultural support throughout their hospital experience. Patient populations may include pediatrics, pre- and post-procedural cases, individuals with cardiac, respiratory, renal, or metabolic concerns, as well as patients recovering from significant surgeries.
Schedule/Hours:
- Full-time contract assignment
Qualifications & Experience:
- Degree from an accredited Nursing Program
- Current RN license in the State of Montana
- Recent experience in an advanced Medical/Surgical Unit and either Critical Care or Progressive Care Nursing required
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (or obtained within 6 months of hire)
- Preferred: EPNC and TNCC certifications
- Pediatric experience is a plus
Skills:
- Proficient with advanced medical equipment and devices (central lines, arterial lines, chest tubes, multiple IVs, NG tubes)
- Able to provide both noninvasive and invasive ventilatory support
- Accurate EKG interpretation and cardiac telemetry monitoring
- Solid understanding of advanced nursing principles and current clinical practices
- Effective use of office equipment and IV pumps
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive care from admission to discharge, including detailed discharge planning
- Provide direction to multidisciplinary staff including RNs, LPNs, CNAs, housekeeping, and dietary employees
- Collaborate closely with providers and nursing leadership to achieve optimal patient outcomes
- Act as a clinical leader, precepting new staff as needed
- Implement and assess compliance with hospital policies and procedures independently
- Recognize potential for patient deterioration and intervene appropriately
