As a registered nurse specializing in rehabilitation and long-term care, you will assess, plan, and implement individualized nursing care for residents while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to promote optimal health and well-being. Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver therapeutic and efficient nursing care to residents with multisystem diseases, using appropriate infection control measures.
- Conduct thorough resident assessments, including nursing admission databases and interdisciplinary input, to identify nursing diagnoses and care needs.
- Administer medications and therapeutics accurately, according to age-specific guidelines and physician orders.
- Lead and supervise nursing assistants, licensed practical nurses, and ward clerks on the unit during shifts.
- Educate residents, families, and staff regarding health conditions, treatments, and wellness strategies.
- Document resident assessments, care plans, and responses accurately in electronic health records.
- Participate in care conferences and ongoing professional development activities.
- Assume charge nurse responsibilities when required to ensure quality resident care.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse license in Alaska or another U.S. state; Alaska license application required before start if direct hire.
- Graduate from an accredited nursing program (Bachelors, Associates, or Diploma).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Clinical Competency and High Risk Competency certifications within three months of hire and ongoing.
- Minimum 1-2 years of nursing experience preferred, particularly in rehabilitation or long-term care.
- Proficient knowledge of nursing processes, pharmaceuticals, and medical equipment operation.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to lead, collaborate, and maintain professional relationships within the healthcare team.
