Job Description

Provide specialized nursing care in a supportive and therapeutic environment focused on rehabilitation and long-term care needs. This contract role is ideal for an RN with experience in rehab or long-term care settings, offering the opportunity to work with diverse patient populations requiring tailored care approaches, including those with Alzheimers and dementia.

Location: Lewiston, ME

Responsibilities include:

  • Deliver direct and indirect nursing care to residents across specialized units, including Alzheimers/dementia care, short-term rehab, and long-term care.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to develop and implement patient-centered care plans.
  • Utilize effective verbal and non-verbal communication techniques to support residents with cognitive impairments.
  • Perform skilled nursing tasks such as IV therapy, wound care, and geriatric assessments.
  • Demonstrate flexibility by covering shifts across different units and providing 24/7 care coverage as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Associate Degree in Nursing required.
  • Active and valid RN license in the state of Maine or equivalent compact license.
  • 1-3 years of recent nursing experience in rehabilitation or long-term care.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills essential.
  • Ability to adapt and float among units.
  • Must reside outside a 50-mile radius from the facility.

Additional Details:

  • Up to 16 hours of orientation are unpaid.
  • The facility reserves the right to cancel a limited number of shifts during the 13-week contract.
  • Previous employees and candidates with licensure conflicts will not be considered.
