Provide skilled nursing care in an inpatient rehabilitation and long-term care setting focused on patient recovery and well-being. This contract position offers an opportunity to work with a multidisciplinary team in a 19-bed unit dedicated to rehabilitation services. The role demands a strong foundation in rehab and medical-surgical nursing, including intravenous (IV) therapy experience.
Location: Situated in Concord, NH, the facility serves the community with comprehensive inpatient rehab services. The unit operates with a patient-to-nurse ratio of approximately 6:1, supported by a caring team including charge nurses, CNAs, and occasional sitters. The environment is equipped with modern devices such as mechanical lifts, Baxter pumps, and advanced EMR systems, ensuring high-quality patient care.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct nursing care within the inpatient rehab unit.
- Manage patient treatments including IV therapy, wound care, and neurological rehab interventions when applicable.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to create and implement individualized care plans.
- Utilize equipment safely and effectively, including mechanical lifts and infusion pumps.
- Maintain accurate documentation using electronic medical records.
- Adhere to unit policies, infection control guidelines, and safety protocols.
- Participate in on-call rotation and work every other weekend, supporting consistent patient coverage.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid RN license with experience in rehabilitation and med-surg nursing.
- Proficiency in IV therapy is required.
- Preferred experience includes wound care, stroke rehabilitation, and traumatic brain injury (TBI) care.
- Current BLS certification.
- Flexible, thorough, and compassionate approach to patient care.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
Scheduling:
- Day and night shifts available.
- Weekend rotation every other weekend.
- On-call duties included.
