Job Description

An opportunity is available for experienced Registered Nurses prepared to take on a leadership role during off-shift hours. This position, based in Manchester, NH, offers a contract engagement as a Resource Nurse, also known as an Off-Shift House Nurse Supervisor, at a well-established hospital specializing in psychiatric care.

Work Schedule:

  • Night shift: 10:45 PM to 7:15 AM
  • Five 8-hour shifts per week, totaling 40 hours
  • Every other weekend includes Friday and Saturday night shifts from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and serve as a clinical resource to nursing staff to ensure safe, therapeutic, and effective patient care across units
  • Maintain adherence to hospital policies and nursing standards while monitoring staff performance
  • Act as a role model for delivering high-quality nursing care
  • Communicate clinical and administrative concerns promptly to Executive Nursing Leadership or the Executive on Call
  • Implement Emergency Preparedness and Patient Care Continuity Plans as necessary
  • Oversee staffing levels and unit operations during assigned shifts

Desired Qualifications:

  • Valid RN licensure with specialization in psychiatric nursing, long-term acute care, long-term care, or medical-surgical nursing
  • Proven leadership skills and capacity to support and guide nursing staff
  • Experience in psychiatric or long-term care nursing strongly preferred
  • Ability to work independently during night shifts and manage multiple responsibilities
  • Prior experience as a travel nurse or in a supervisory nursing role is advantageous
