This opportunity is for a Registered Nurse with PACU experience to provide dedicated care in a surgical short stay and observation setting. The role is a contract position based in Summerville, SC, offering a focused schedule of three 12-hour night shifts per week, Monday through Thursday, with no weekend or holiday responsibilities.

Situated in the Summerville area, this position is part of a surgical observation unit within a large clinic environment. Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients recovering from orthopedic, interventional radiology, and gastrointestinal procedures.
- Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia teams, and OR nurses to ensure continuity and safety in patient care.
- Manage a 23-hour observation unit structured around a small bay surgical PACU model.
- Maintain patient safety and comfort in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary surgical environment.
- Adapt to floating within similar observation units or sister facilities as needed.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years experience as a Registered Nurse, with PACU or surgical observation preferred.
- Current RN nursing license in South Carolina or Compact/Multi-State license accepted.
- BLS and ACLS certifications required.
- Ability to work the designated night shift schedule.
- Flexibility to accommodate floating shifts within the unit or related facilities.
Schedule
- 3 x 12-hour night shifts per week (6:00 PM to 6:30 AM), Monday through Thursday.
- No weekend, holiday, or on-call requirements.
Additional Information
- Staffing ratio capped at a maximum of 1:6 patients, with usual ratios closer to 1:3.
- Potential manager-approved block scheduling available based on unit needs.
- Facility permits calling off one shift every two weeks.
- Security measures are in place overnight to ensure a safe work environment.
