Job Description

A Registered Nurse with perioperative expertise is sought to support surgical patient care in all phases of the operative experience: preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative. This contract position focuses on delivering high-quality nursing care by applying the nursing process, adhering to established standards, and following policies and procedures. Acting as a patient advocate, you will provide direction and supervision to assigned personnel, ensuring safe and effective care delivery. Collaboration with the Unit Nurse Manager, House Supervisor, or RN Team Leader is essential, and participation in an on-call rotation is required. Nursing staff may also be assigned to other qualified departments as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care throughout the surgical experience.
  • Advocate for patient safety and comfort at all times.
  • Direct and supervise assigned nursing personnel.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for coordinated care.
  • Participate in on-call rotation and flexible staffing assignments.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Current RN licensure with PACU or perioperative nursing experience.
  • Strong knowledge of surgical nursing standards and protocols.
  • Ability to lead and supervise nursing staff effectively.
  • Excellent communication and patient advocacy skills.
  • Flexibility to float to other qualified patient care departments.
