Job Description

A skilled Registered Nurse with expertise in perioperative nursing is sought to provide comprehensive care throughout the surgical experience, including preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative phases. This contract position is based in Hermiston, OR, offering the opportunity to contribute to high-quality surgical patient care by applying nursing knowledge, standards, policies, and procedures. The nurse will serve as a patient advocate and oversee personnel as assigned, collaborating with the Unit Nurse Manager, House Supervisor, or RN Team Leader.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver patient-centered nursing care during all surgical phases
  • Ensure compliance with established nursing standards and protocols
  • Supervise and direct assigned staff to maintain quality care delivery
  • Participate in on-call rotations, responding as needed
  • Provide support in other qualified departments when floated, prioritizing core staff coverage

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Current RN licensure with perioperative nursing experience (PACU specialization preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of surgical patient care and perioperative processes
  • Ability to supervise and lead nursing personnel effectively
  • Flexibility to work assigned shift hours from 11:00 AM to 7:30 PM, including participation in on-call rotations
  • Adaptability to provide care in other departments as necessary
