Job Description

Deliver exceptional PACU nursing care as a proactive member of a dynamic interdisciplinary healthcare team. This contract position involves collaborating with both licensed and unlicensed care providers to ensure patients and their families receive high-quality, individualized care following perioperative procedures. The nursing environment emphasizes evidence-based practice, professional development, and shared governance.

What You Need to Succeed:

  • Active RN license, meeting Georgia Professional Nurse Practice Act requirements
  • At least one year of post-anesthesia or critical care nursing experience preferred
  • Strong clinical assessment, prioritization, and critical thinking abilities
  • Thorough understanding of PACU protocols and evidence-based nursing practices
  • Commitment to patient-centered care, safety, and service excellence
  • Professionalism in upholding nursing standards, system policies, and code of ethics
  • Proven teamwork skills and the ability to effectively communicate within an interdisciplinary team

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver safe, high-quality nursing care to post-anesthesia patients, including monitoring and assessment
  • Proactively advocate for patient needs and maintain open communication with families
  • Document patient status, treatments, and interventions in accordance with established practices
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues to ensure coordinated care, both within the PACU and with surgical teams
  • Support and participate in quality improvement initiatives and professional governance models
  • Adhere to clinical protocols, safety measures, and practice standards as outlined by regulatory and accrediting organizations
  • Educate patients and families about post-procedure expectations and recovery care
