A rewarding opportunity is available for a Registered Nurse with PACU expertise to support a high-volume GI Lab and Endoscopy unit in Des Plaines, Illinois. This contract role offers a dynamic, fast-paced environment focused on pre-op and post-op care where your specialized skills in moderate sedation and patient monitoring will be essential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide preoperative and postoperative nursing care in the GI Lab and Endoscopy settings.
• Administer moderate sedation while maintaining patient safety and comfort.
• Monitor vital signs and manage patient recovery, including EKG interpretation.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure quality care and efficient patient flow.
• Utilize Epic electronic health record system proficiently to document patient care.
• Maintain compliance with all licensing and certification standards including ACLS and CPR.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Active Illinois Registered Nurse license required.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience specifically in GI Lab, Endoscopy, or PACU Pre-op/Post-op nursing.
• ACLS certification is mandatory.
• CPR certification required.
• Proven proficiency with Epic electronic medical record software.
• Successful completion of an EKG test with a passing score of 80% or higher.
• Strong references, including at least one supervisor reference within the past year.

Schedule:

• 8-hour day shifts, 40 hours per week.
• Start times between 7:00 AM and 8:00 AM.
• No weekend or holiday work requirements.
• Floating is not expected.
• Minimal days off between assignments (no more than 7).
