An opportunity is available for a Registered Nurse with expertise in Operating Room care, based in Waterloo, IA. This contract role offers the chance to provide critical perioperative nursing in a dynamic medical environment, supporting surgical teams and ensuring exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative patient care in the operating room
  • Prepare and maintain a sterile environment throughout surgical procedures
  • Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other medical staff to ensure patient safety and comfort
  • Monitor patient status during operations and respond promptly to any changes
  • Manage surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment efficiently
  • Participate in call rotations, including overnight and weekend shifts as scheduled

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license with Operating Room experience
  • Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, aseptic techniques, and patient safety protocols
  • Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, high-pressure settings
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Flexible availability to cover scheduled call rotations

Schedule and Call Details:

  • 12-hour shifts from 0600 to 1830
  • 9-hour shifts from 0900 to 1830
  • 10-hour shifts from 0800 to 1830
  • 36-40 hours per week plus call rotations
  • Overnight call approximately every 1-2 weeks
  • Weekend call approximately every 4-5 weeks, including holidays
