Job Description
A registered nurse with a focus on operating room care is needed to provide exceptional patient-centered surgical support in a Level 2 Trauma Center environment. This role involves circulating nurse duties, ensuring patient safety throughout preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative phases, and collaborating with surgical and nursing leadership to deliver care aligned with current AORN Standards and Recommended Practices.

Responsibilities:
- Serve as the circulating nurse during surgical procedures, maintaining vigilant patient safety and asepsis
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments, planning, implementation, and evaluation of surgical care
- Assist in upholding infection control standards and trauma care protocols consistent with a Level 2 Trauma Center
- Collaborate effectively with the surgical team and leadership to ensure quality care delivery
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Current or temporary RN license in North Dakota or valid compact RN licensure
- BLS certification required (to be obtained within orientation period)
- Two or more years of relevant nursing experience preferred, particularly in surgical nursing
- CNOR certification preferred but not mandatory for RN Circulator role
- Experience with Cerner electronic medical record system
- Familiarity with trauma center protocols advantageous
- Ability to work efficiently, make sound judgments, and maintain effective team communication
Schedule:
- Shifts vary and may include early morning, mid-day, and evening hours (examples: 0545-1415, 0600-1430, 0830-1700, and 1300-2130)
- On-call responsibilities approximately one day per week plus partial weekend coverage across a six-week schedule
Additional Details:
- 13-week contract assignment
- Travel experience required; candidates must be able to travel and relocate as needed within a 50-mile radius
