Job Description
A registered nurse with operating room experience is sought for a contract assignment in Surrey, ND. This role involves functioning as a circulating nurse within a surgical team at a Level 2 trauma center, ensuring patient safety and quality care during all phases of surgery. The position requires a commitment to standards set by professional guidelines and emphasizes collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the circulating nurse during surgical procedures, managing patient safety pre-op, intra-op, and post-op.
- Apply appropriate assessments, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care in line with AORN standards.
- Maintain principles of asepsis and infection control throughout surgical activities.
- Collaborate effectively with the surgical team and hospital staff to deliver coordinated care.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Current or temporary Registered Nurse license in North Dakota or a compact RN licensure.
- BLS certification is required within the orientation period.
- CNOR certification is preferred but not mandatory.
- Minimum of two years experience in a surgical specialty preferred.
- Experience working in a Level 2 trauma center environment is advantageous.
- Prior travel nursing experience is required.
- Cerner electronic health records experience required.
- Demonstrated skills in asepsis, infection control, and team collaboration.
- The role requires adherence to a 50-mile radius working rule.
Schedule and Contract Details:
- 13-week contract assignment.
- Shifts vary, including early morning through late evening rotations (0545-1415, 0600-1430, 0830-1700, 1300-2130).
- Call responsibilities include one day per week plus portions of two weekends in a six-week cycle.
