A professional Registered Nurse (RN) with expertise in Operating Room nursing is needed for a contract position based in Seymour, IN. This role emphasizes delivering safe, effective, patient- and family-centered care with high-quality outcomes in a surgical setting. The RN will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating individualized nursing care plans while mentoring and supervising licensed and non-licensed staff members.
Responsibilities include:
- Performing thorough patient assessments and reassessments according to policy and clinical judgement.
- Developing and prioritizing care plans in collaboration with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Monitoring and documenting clinical responses and progress.
- Providing tailored education to patients and families about care, treatment, and discharge instructions.
- Delegating tasks appropriately, mentoring staff, and fostering a collaborative team environment.
- Participating in quality improvement, safety, and service initiatives aligned with regulatory standards and evidence-based practice.
- Supporting a financially sound unit while advancing professional development under a Practice Governance framework.
Desired qualifications and experience:
- Current and valid RN license with Operating Room experience.
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multi-disciplinary teams.
- Mentoring or precepting experience preferred.
- Commitment to evidence-based practice and quality patient outcomes.
