Job Description
Deliver compassionate patient care in a dynamic surgical setting. In this role, youll assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for surgical patients, while supporting the operating team as an Operating Room Circulator. There may also be occasions to step in as a Scrub Technician. You will be essential in upholding standards of nursing practice, fostering collaboration among healthcare professionals, and ensuring a safe and effective surgical environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and monitor the condition of surgical patients, ensuring optimal pre- and post-operative care.
- Plan, organize, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans during operations.
- Fulfill the professional role of an Operating Room Circulator, ensuring the surgical team has what they need at every step.
- Serve as Scrub Technician as assigned, assisting with instrument setup and sterile field maintenance.
- Advocate for patient needs and safety, maintaining strict adherence to established standards.
- Delegate, supervise, and coordinate the work of other healthcare team members in the surgical suite.
- Collaborate and communicate clearly with surgeons, anesthesiologists, surgical techs, and ancillary staff.
- Document patient care activities accurately in electronic medical records.
- Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and professional cooperation.
Qualifications:
- Current Registered Nurse license
- Experience in the Operating Room, particularly as a Circulator
- Scrub Technician experience (preferred)
- Strong assessment and critical thinking skills
- Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced surgical environment
- Effective communication and team collaboration skills
