Advance your nursing career by supporting vital cardiac procedures as a skilled RNFA specializing in the Operating Room. In this rewarding contract role, youll work directly with attending physicians to assist with exposure, hemostasis, closure, and essential intraoperative technical functions, ensuring optimal surgical outcomes. You will play a key role in patient care, supporting both preoperative and postoperative needs throughout the perioperative period.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as the RN First Assistant primarily providing 2nd assist in cardiac surgical cases.
• Aid in all aspects of surgical intervention, including exposure, hemostasis, and wound closure.
• Partner with surgeons and the operating room team to maintain safe, sterile conditions and deliver high-quality care.
• Cover regional call to support the Cardiac Surgery program across the health system.
• Perform detailed patient assessments before and after surgery to support individualized care plans.
• Document all care activities and critical findings accurately in patient records.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes and safety.

Qualifications:

• Current and active RN license required.
• Certification as a Registered Nurse First Assistant.
• Prior experience in the Operating Room, with a strong emphasis on cardiac surgical cases.
• Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced OR environment and respond quickly to changing priorities.
• Exceptional communication, organizational, and clinical skills.
• BLS and ACLS certifications preferred.
