Job Description
Step into a dynamic MedSurg/Tele environment within a large, nationally recognized hospital featuring 637 licensed beds, Level 1 Trauma Designation, and extensive clinical specialties. This contract opportunity is designed for experienced RN professionals who thrive in a fast-paced setting and enjoy teamwork and collaboration.
Schedule:
- 12-hour shifts: 7A-7P or 7P-7A
- Weekend rotation: 5-6 shifts per 6-week period
- One shift per major holiday (Thanksgiving or day after, 12/24 or 12/25, 12/31 or 1/1)
- No on-call requirements
Qualifications:
- Current RN license
- Minimum of 2 years recent MedSurg/Tele RN experience
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
- Basic Cardiac Rhythm (BCR) course required (EKG Rhythm exam during onboarding)
- ACLS preferred
- Med-Surg Certification preferred but not mandatory
- Proficiency in cardiac and clinical assessments, telemetry, post-op and wound care, care coordination, and interdisciplinary collaboration
Responsibilities:
- Care for a variety of adult medical/surgical telemetry patientsprimarily post/pre-cardiac and step-down ICU cases (CHF, COPD, STEMI, sepsis, etc.)
- Maintain safe patient ratios (1 RN: 4-6 patients)
- Start IVs, manage central lines, trachs, chest tubes, glucommander, multiple drip infusions (excluding BP titration)
- Interpret telemetry and cardiac monitoring
- Lead patient education and discharge planning, particularly with renal/fluid management
- Collaborate closely with CNAs, Unit Secretaries, Resource and Discharge Nurses, hospitalists, intensivists, and respiratory therapy
Facility and Unit Support:
- 24/7 support services including CNAs, charge nurses, hospitalists, and respiratory therapists
- Advanced technology: EPIC EMR, Alaris IV Pumps, Pyxis medication dispensing
