An opportunity is open for a Registered Nurse skilled in Cardiac Telemetry to contribute expert nursing care in a demanding, fast-paced inpatient setting. This 13-week contract role focuses on delivering exceptional care on the Cardiac Med 4B unit, incorporating patient assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, all within the scope of nursing practice and regulatory guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care for cardiac and medical-surgical patients using clinical judgment and the nursing process
- Monitor and coordinate care with ancillary services to optimize patient outcomes and comfort
- Administer and titrate medications safely, responding to patient changes proactively
- Maintain patient confidentiality and uphold professional standards consistent with organizational values
- Assist with patient lifts and mobility using appropriate equipment; adhere to infection control and safety protocols
Required Qualifications:
- Current RN license eligible for Missouri or licensed in the state
- Minimum 1 year of cardiac telemetry inpatient nursing experience
- BLS certification from AHA; NIHSS certification required before start
- Preferred: ACLS certification from AHA
- Proven competence in managing cardiac telemetry patients and drug titration
Work Schedule & Environment:
- Night shift: 7:00 PM 7:00 AM
- Flexible weekly guaranteed hours available: 36 or 48
- Rotational float duties within unit as needed
- Physical demands include standing, walking, bending, and patient lifting with assistance
